Leadership and Diversity for Innovation Program 2019
Senior Executives (male or female) from financial institutions, FinTechs or MNOs in emerging markets are invited to apply. Applicants should be part of the executive/senior management team or lead a significant line of business and should have an interest in serving low-income women.

Eligibility: 

·        Top-performing institution committed to financial inclusion with a focus on the women’s market

·        Ability to commit to a year-long program with multiple remote and in-person touch points

·        Proficiency in spoken and written English

Program Costs:

USD 6,000 

USD 5,000 - Women's World Banking network members


Fee includes tuition and course materials for two participants per institution (senior executive and high-potential woman leader). Women's World Banking will cover accommodations, breakfast and lunch during the in-person workshop in New York. Participants must cover all travel and incidental expenses incurred such as flights to New York, ground transportation, visas, insurance, additional meals, etc.).

Limited scholarships may be available.

1.     Application must be fully completed by the senior executive requesting admission to the program before review by the Admissions Committee.

2.     Please answer "Not Applicable" where data is not available.

3.     Application should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.

4.     Applications are being accepted on rolling basis, but seats are limited.

V. Strategic Business Initiative
The Leadership and Diversity for Innovation Program offers you the opportunity to bring a strategic business initiative you are working on into the program. You will be able to work on your business initiative throughout the duration of the program, with support from content experts from Women’s World Banking on topics such as leading innovation, behavioral design, women-centered product development, etc.


A good fit for a strategic business initiative will have the following characteristics:

Tackles a strategic challenge for your organization
Focuses on better serving the women’s market
Can yield meaningful results in a one-year period

VII. Criteria for Selection of a Woman Leader

Each senior executive participant is required to nominate one high-potential woman leader from her or his organization to join the program. Please list the names and titles of up to 2 women leaders or high-potential women you would consider nominating to attend with you. Team members reporting directly to you are preferred. You may also consider non-direct reports who can contribute meaningfully to your business initiative. Upon acceptance into the program you will be asked to confirm your nominee.


High-potential woman leader eligibility criteria include:

  • Mid-level professional, 5 – 10 years of professional experience
  • Capable of being promoted to the next level of leadership or broadening their role significantly
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people in the organization
  • Motivated to take on new leadership challenges and opportunities
  • People managers preferred but not required

Criteria for selecting the woman leader can include:

• Candidate is regarded as “high potential” key contributors to their institutions

• Has demonstrated the ability to lead people in their organizations

• Is motivated to take on new leadership challenges and opportunities

• Have served more than 3 years in their current position

Acceptance:

The Committee will review all applications on a rolling basis and will notify applicants of decisions. Once your application has been approved, you will be sent additional information to register for the course. Space in the program is limited.

Cancellation Policy: 

Once your application has been accepted, Women’s World Banking will issue an invoice. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date in order to retain your place. Cancellations must be submitted in writing up to 30 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the start of the Executive Forum will be subject to full payment.
